Droycon Bioconcepts Inc. does offer a range of research and development and consulting services related to the environmental problems for industries, municipalities and government organizations. The strength in our consulting lies in a mixture of environmental engineers and microbiologists that allows problems associated with biological activities in engineered systems to be examined more exhaustively and managed more effectively. These services have already been used in the corrosion, plugging/clogging, and bioremediation sectors and, in all cases, there has been a distinct problem generated from specific microbial activities at the site. Problems have ranged from losses in specific capacities in extraction and injection wells due to plugging, the diagnosis of the causes of lost production in water, oil and gas wells, establishment of preventative maintenance programs to maintain production goals, through to the diagnosis of the causes of corrosion. In all of these activities, the BART™ biodetectors have been employed as a sensitive means of establishing the aggressivity of the bacteria (in other words extent of biofouling events) at the site of concern. Consulting services can also include process evaluation and design of biotreatment systems for water and wastewaters and treatment/preventative maintenance of biofouled monitoring wells at hazardous waste disposal sites. Consulting can include theoretical evaluations of problems based upon the historical records and the mode of failures experienced at the site(s) through to on-site inspections and evaluations of the cause of the failures and the development of sustainable protocols to more precisely and effectively control the event(s). Sometimes it is necessary to put the "bio" into the correct perspective in biodegradation and bioremediation and by blending environmental engineering with microbiology, this becomes a reality. Consulting services are operated by Dr. D. Roy Cullimore and may be reached by e-mail at: Consulting or by phone at (306) 585 1762 or fax at (306) 585 3000
